The pomelo tree (Citrus paradisi) is an evergreen fruit tree belonging to the Rutaceae family. It can reach up to 6 meters in height and has a rounded shape with broad, dark green, glossy leaves. In spring, it is covered in intensely fragrant white flowers, which are very attractive to pollinators.

Native to subtropical regions, the grapefruit tree thrives in warm, sunny, frost-free climates, in fertile, well-drained, and slightly acidic soils. It is primarily cultivated in the United States, Israel, Brazil, and some Mediterranean areas. It requires regular irrigation, especially during the fruiting season.

Its large, round fruits, with yellow or pinkish peel, are very juicy and prized for their tangy flavor. The peel contains an essential oil with fresh, fruity, and slightly bitter notes, extracted by cold pressing. This essence is used for its toning, purifying, and draining properties, both in cosmetics and in aromatherapy diffusers or firming massage oils.
