The black spruce (Picea marianaThe pine (Pinus nigra) is a majestic conifer in the Pinaceae family, native to the great boreal forests of North America. It can reach up to 20 meters in height and is characterized by a slender trunk, horizontal branches, and short, stiff needles of a deep, dark green. Adapted to cold climates and extreme conditions, it thrives in acidic, well-drained soils, often at high altitudes or in humid areas. It withstands the harshest sub-zero temperatures and contributes to the ecological richness of northern forests.

The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of its needles. It releases a fresh, resinous, and woody fragrance, reminiscent of walks in the forest. Used in aromatherapy for its invigorating and revitalizing properties, it is often recommended during the winter months to boost energy and improve breathing.
