Ho wood (Cinnamomum camphora CT linalool) is a medium-sized tree belonging to the Lauraceae family. It has glossy green, evergreen foliage with oval, aromatic leaves. Its wood, rich in fragrant essence, yields a sweet, floral essential oil, very similar to rose oil, due to its high linalool content.

Native to Asia, particularly China and Taiwan, Ho wood grows in temperate to subtropical regions. It thrives in well-drained, deep, and slightly moist soils, with a sunny or partially shaded location. Hardy and adaptable, this tree is often cultivated for the distillation of its wood, bark, and sometimes its leaves.

Its essential oil, obtained by distilling the wood, is highly valued in natural cosmetics and aromatherapy for its balancing, calming, and purifying properties. It is particularly well-tolerated, even by sensitive skin, and is often used in anti-aging skincare, relaxing massages, or soothing diffuser blends.
